Rookies is a series of 3D character designs that draw inspiration from the enigmatic Crow Canyon Petroglyphs. This project begins by exploring rock as interfaces in the digital age, ultimately leading to an in-depth study of petroglyphs. Distinct from relief sculptures or animal engravings, petroglyphs represent a unique form of rock marking, with their original meanings lost to history. Through a process of interpretation, I transformed the intricate carvings found on the rocks into expressive characters, breathing new life into these ancient symbols.
